4th Saturday Gaming (Apr 23) Is it too early to RSVP for some gaming this weekend?

NEC May 26-30 in Bethesda I'm still on the fence but I'll probably go for it. There's a bit more info on their website now. Pre-reg deadline is May 20th and there's a $10 parking fee on Friday (carpool anyone?) When it was mostly a rumor I heard gaming would start Thursday evening but I see no mention of that on the website so it looks like it's just Friday thru Monday.

Last day to book the con rate at the Doubletree is 4/26 (tomorrow!) so just a heads up about that.

May 28th gaming - Are you planning on being there? While not registered yet, I tentatively plan to attend the con that weekend.

NEC May 26-30 in Bethesda I just noticed the dropped the "at the door" prices and now they offer an open gaming pass for only $40. So if you're not planning on participating in any tournaments looks like there's no need to pre-register.

Machiavelli 3rd Sat. (8/20) in Herndon Just wanted to put some feelers out. I'm hoping to get folks together for my bi-annual game of Machiavelli (similar to Diplomacy but a bit meatier). This year I'm coming up a couple seats short. If anyone is interested please let me know. We usually start in the morning but this year we might have to start early in the afternoon instead (around 1pm). I suspect it may run until midnight or later but game length can vary quite a bit. The game is best with a full board of 8 players.

8/13 Gaming (2nd Sat) I hope to be there but I think I brought some sniffles back from Lancaster so I might not be feeling up to it.

I have played Battleship Galaxies and would try it again (preferably one of the canned scenarios).

I think Jeff is a fan of Nefertiti. I've played it once or twice but wasn't really enthralled by it.

Fourth Saturday gaming, 9/24 I'll be there. Wouldn't mind another game of Burgund. If it's not raining I might bring Small World Underground.

New Year's Eve gaming Right, what he said.

For the first time ever we will have gaming on the fifth 5th Saturday of the year. I don't have any special festivities planned but don't
let that stop you from celebrating when the clock strikes midnight!

The pasta with meatballs AND sausage was a big hit last time so we plan to do that again (meatballs/sausage are optional and I expect to have a marinara sauce available for vegetarians). I also hope to get some sort of cheesecake from Costco and the usual Colossal Donuts from Shoppers.

Start time will be the usual 1pm on Saturday, December 31st at Mike & Sallie's place in Herndon. We will play until whenever the last folks decide to go home.

I have not shopped for soft drinks yet so give a shout out ASAP if you have any requests (especially if you know of a good sale!)

As usual, please RSVP so I have a rough head count for food preparation and please remember to fill out those game record sheets so we know what games are played!

Status/updates will be posted here (where you can also find directions if you need them):

Thanks,
Rick

Site changes Awesome, Thanks!

It does tell you who posts a reply to a thread but it looks like it still doesn't tell you who started a new thread.

Also, is there any way to subscribe to all new threads by default?

Rick

ETA: Yikes! That was quadruple spaced! Something to do with the iPod browser?

Site changes This is great John, thanks!

I know I'm just being picky at this point but how hard would it be to include line breaks in the emailed text? Right now everything runs together.

Game days The game library is not huge but it's extensive enough that you can usually find something to play, although it may not be a recent release. There are also plenty of games that other folks will bring (I'm bringing 4 tubs of my own games.)

If there's something you really want to get to the table, best to bring it.

Game days Matt,

I took a look at your collection. I could be talked into trying Dominant Species again if you bring and can teach. I played 1/3 of a game last year and then we quit because we had one of the core rules wrong.

I have not played Dungeon Petz yet and would like to.

Rum & Pirates is part of my "Stefan Feld" quest (I'm a fan of both Macao and Burgund but haven't played any of his earlier stuff.) Likewise for Notre Dame, In the Year of the Dragon and Trajan.

Here's what I'm bringing so you can probably leave these titles at home:

Game days Great, thanks! When are you coming up? I'll be there the whole time (aside from the sleeping-in parts).
