Ho Ho Ho -it’s fourth Saturday Is anyone jolly enough for an online game this afternoon? Also are there any plans for New Year’s Eve or New Year’s Day as we celebrate putting 2020 into the dumpster of history?

Ho Ho Ho -it’s fourth Saturday I have both TM and Ticket in IOS.

New Years Eve virtual gaming? Depending on what is being played, Melanie might be interested in joining me for this one.

January 9th - virtual games for the new year? Count me in. As of today, I am officially a retiree.. so my leisure time has dramatically increased. I'd love a re-match on the Yucata version of Grand Austria Hotel or Lorenzo but I'm open to many other choices.

New Administration - Same Games? If the 'uncivil war" is ending, isn't it time for some friendly competition? On this fourth Saturday I remain open to games like Founding Fathers and Campaign Manager 2008 (both on Yucata) but also Grand Austria Hotel (honoring our frontline workers) or even try something completely new like Carnegie or City of Big Shoulders (available in Beta with detailed tutorials on BGA).

Who would like to join?

2nd saturday? I will check in at 1pm to see if anyone has expressed an interest. I'd love to get in another round of Lorenzo on Yucata or Yokohama on BGA but I am open to other suggestions.

2nd saturday? Cahp - if you don't have access to discord, call me at 240-472-9954

I'll be on tomorrow. BGA has added quite few games recently! Paris Connection is so much easier the deal with online.

Recently I scored a 70s edition of Acquire cheap. Quite pleased as that was the version I learned to play on. Hopefully it can get out to the table later this year.

Tragedy averted - February has a 4rh Saturday! It was a close call but by my count we can squeeze in one more game day this month. While I appreciate the convenience of asynchronous games .. there is nothing like the real time experience of making human contact (even over discord) while playing with your friends... for Broadway fans I'd use the analogy of the wolf in Into the Woods as he describes the please of talking to his meal (except that I am too often cast as Red Riding Hood). But I digress... I hope some of you are up for a game tomorrow. John, Mike and I are into an asynchronous marathon of American Railroads and John, Ed and I have done a couple of battles of Grand Austria Hotel. What would you like to digest me with? I say no to "viticulture" (I don't pair well with wine/whine), but I'm open to almost anything else. 1pm start time?

It might as well be spring The forecast for tomorrow is ... well, games, of course. It is the second Saturday in March, so just before we spring ahead let)0’s fall back on our favorite pastime, so whether your feeling like next week will bring the fate of Caesar or the luck of the Irish come join us on the 13th for a test of skill, I will be there at1.

Vaccination = Face to Face? chrisbrandt wrote:
Hi all. I was wondering how many of us had been vaccinated. Maybe we are at a point where we've attained nerd immunity... I mean HERD immunity. I had COVID in February and had an antibody infusion, so I should be safe, but I can't get a vaccine until the end of the month. I'm happy to wait. Anyone else getting antsy to meet across the table?

Chris,

My situation is a little complicated. I got my second dose of Moderna on Monday so technically I’m free and clear by the second Saturday in April. However, we’ve made plans to visit our grandchild and daughter in Boston on Mother’s Day and since they most certainly won’t be vaccinated by then, we’ve agreed to continue to follow all isolation precautions prior to our trip. The other complication is that I’ve promised Melanie to avoid driving by myself more than a half-hour distance from home (the concern arises from my gradual loss of physical abilities due to Parkinson’s. I could drive to Greenbelt and take Metro from there but that’s quite a lot of exposure to potential virus carriers. The long and the short of it is that I am targeting the fourth Saturday in May as a possibility for my first in-person game... if John is up for it and there are enough vaccinated players.

Disclaimer - It is not my intent to break any HIPA laws. You don't have to reveal anything about your medical situation if you don't feel like it. I was just trying to get a feel for how long it would be before we had a quorum of gamers.

Not face to face, but it is a fourth Saturday. It may still be a while before I can see you, but if you jump on Discord at 1 on Saturday, I’ll be able to hear you in less than 39 hours. For me this will be a short game day as I need to leave to prepare for our family’s Zoom seder at about 4pm. Of course I could come back after this early seder his over...but with four cups of wine in me, I can’t be sure I’d be playing coherently (to quote my dad from a memorable seder: “ I am not a drinewinker.”

What would you like to play on Saturday...as far as I’m concerned just about anything that can be played in 3 hours or less is kosher for a starter.

Not face to face, but it is a fourth Saturday. Chris,

The Discord site is labeled “ABG Server”

But you’ll need the help of a more tech savvy member to tell you how to link in.. I feel lucky every time I make the connection.

24 is 4 games Tomorrow is another virtual game day. I'll be ready to roll (if the game has dice) at 1pm. If there are no dice, I'll be ready to draft, place or choose a role at that same time. What are you interested in playing?

24 is 4 games I am intrigued by Beyond the Sun, but I confess that I couldn't totally follow the video explanation on BGA. If you could teach it, I'm sure I would understand.

Fourth Saturday, maybe real face to face gaming? I plan to be there. Thanks for hosting. Hope to play a game that does not exist in the virtual world (e.g. Great Western Trail or Crystal Palace). But mainly hope to see you guys again.

2nd Saturday of June I am going to try to make it if Melanie can give me a ride to Greenbelt Metro.
6/25/2021 8:34:03 PM
Fourth Saturday, June 26 the spirit is willing... but the body is committed to house hunting this weekend... I'll take a raincheck for July 10.
7/9/2021 7:32:12 AM
Games tomorrow? - July 10 Are you hosting second Saturday games? If you are, I will be there, probably a few minutes after 1pm due to train connections.
